Bethesda Marks Fallout Day 2026 With World Pets Update, TV Show and Nuka-Cola Vote

Bethesda.net marked Fallout Day 2026 with a week-long celebration of the franchise, announcing new collaborations and previewing the next major Fallout 76 update, called World Pets. The publisher shared the roundup on Friday, October 23, 2026, alongside partners including Amazon Prime Video, JONES Soda and McFarlane Toys.

According to Bethesda.net, the announcements cover games, merchandise, a television project and a fan vote on a new drink flavor. The company also said it will hold its first live Fallout Day event in Washington, D.C. next year, with details to follow.

Why it matters

Fallout Day has become Bethesda's main annual moment for the series, and this year's edition shows how far the brand now reaches beyond games. The lineup spans a reality-style TV show, a soda collaboration, collectibles and in-game content, suggesting the publisher is treating Fallout as a multi-platform property rather than a single game series.

The World Pets update is the most significant item for existing players, since it changes how Fallout 76's companion animals work. The television announcement extends the Fallout Shelter mobile game into a new format with outside production partners.

Pets leave the camp in Fallout 76's World Pets update

Bethesda.net reports that Fallout 76's pets will move beyond the C.A.M.P. and accompany players into the Wasteland. The World Pets update, due this winter, will let players take a Cat, Dog, Radhog or a domesticated Deathclaw out on adventures.

The update will also bring a refreshed Skyline Valley region and additional content, according to the publisher. Creative Director Jon Rush and Production Director Bill LaCoste presented a walkthrough video explaining the changes.

Bethesda.net also pointed players to two new Creations available now in the Creations menu: Command Override from Hobgoblin Studios and FEVer Dreams from Kinggath Creations.

Fallout Shelter heads to Prime Video

A new television project, Fallout Shelter: The Experiment, is in the works with Amazon Prime Video, Kilter Films and Studio Lambert, Bethesda.net reports. The show places contestants inside a Fallout-themed environment, where they face a series of increasingly difficult challenges for a large cash prize.

The program is scheduled to arrive on Prime Video on January 13, 2027. Bethesda.net said Fallout Shelter will also receive more Seasons, including content tied to the upcoming show. A Baby Deathclaw will soon be available as an adoptable pet in players' Vaults, the publisher added.

Fans choose the taste of Nuka-Cola Twist

Bethesda.net reports that, with JONES Soda, it has opened a fan vote on the flavor of Nuka-Cola Twist. The campaign is called Project T.W.I.S.T., short for Taste-Worthiness Initiative for Shelter Transition.

Voting runs until October 31 on the official Project T.W.I.S.T. website. The three candidates are Pink Bubblegum, Watermelon Dragon Fruit and Strawberry Lemonade. The publisher framed the vote as a chance for fans to shape the drink's future flavor.

Merchandise and marketing round out the week

Several merchandise items were announced. Displate is offering a limited-edition metal poster featuring Nuka-Cola Quartz and the Nuka-Girl mascot, printed to resist damage and mountable with magnets. McFarlane Toys' Gaming Edition line adds figures including the Scorched Sierra Power Armor, NCR Salvaged Power Armor and the synth detective Nick Valentine.

The Official Bethesda Gear Store introduced a wearable T-60 helmet replica and a Power Fist replica with sound effects, per Bethesda.net. OpenCritic separately reported that Nuka-Cola gaming bundles and Pip-Boy Xbox controllers are being given away as part of the celebration.

Ad Age also reported on how the maker of Fallout uses content creators to increase engagement with experiential marketing, a sign that the week's events were built partly around influencer participation.

Bethesda.net closed its roundup by inviting fans to next year's celebration, which will be held live in Washington, D.C. for the first time.
